Center for Studies and Research in Behavior 2025

Since its founding in 1991, the Center for Research and Studies in Behavior (Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones en Comportamiento, CEIC) at University of Guadalajara in Mexico has stood out as an academic space in which researchers and graduate students from around the world develop basic research. As one of the pioneers for a scientific psychology in Mexico, the space was originally conceived as the Center for Research and Studies in Psychology (Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones en PsicologĂa, CEIP). It was the first Latin American research center of its kind and was also the first fully-tutorial behavior analysis graduate program with supervised experiential learning in Mexico. CEIC has 12 laboratories grouped into three major lines of research and application: 1) human behavior; 2) non-human behavior; and 3) applied research on behavior. Within each lab, professors work on their projects, tutoring students and providing support for the graduate programs offered within CEIC. It is home to two behavior analysis graduate programs (Master and Ph.D). At the time of their creation, both programs were the first of their kind in Mexico, since they were conceived as fully-tutorial, supervised experiential learning programs, with research as their main focus. For both programs, learning is fostered through practice, where discussions, research, and data communication take place.
