2008: Mihyun Grace Cho

Nam Seoul University

In recent years, there has been growing awareness of the need to help people with disabilities in Korea. The Korean government recognizes that the nation has been lagging in knowledge of the most recent ABA developments. Presently, the Education Department requires teachers to take workshops on positive behavior intervention in the classroom. Dr. Grace Cho has already been able to provide teacher workshops on behavior intervention, but necessary training materials in Korean have been lacking. In order to address this problem, Dr. Cho undertook the translation of Classroom Management: A California Resource Guide—a practical “how-to” manual that can be used with in-service training and in many other ways. The SABA grant went toward the costs of producing 500 copies of this manual, with the ultimate goal of improving the Korean school environment.
